When I got back to the motel i turned on the weather channel to see what tommorow would bring....not good at all...clear skies and wind out of the north at 10 to 20 with small craft advisories for the lake... sunday morning i walked outside and seen the stars and could feel that wind and i knew it was going to be tough.... we went back up to Lakepoint and launched again and headed back up Cowikee creek where we had had some luck the day before..I really didnt dawn on me that the lake was up much because it was still a little dark, but as we rounded a bend those logs and bushes floating past us made me realize that I hadnt counted on two inches of rain raising the creek...as I eased up to my spot I seen that the shallow bushes were under water and the water was rolling cold and muddy....i mean south alabama clay muddy....i told my coangler that there was no since trying this so we headed downstream till we found some coves that still had some clear water.....needless to say didnt get a bite all day.... my coangler Robert was fishing a rattletrap off of a flooded island and hooked a 2 pound crappie.. man that thing was huge..we put it in the livewell because we wanted to see how much it weighed.... the tournement ended at noon and as we loaded the boat we found out that most people had trouble too... just too much wind and mud...Terry who was leading on day one had caught one one a pig and jig.... He ended up being the man with a total over 9 and I came in second with about 6 and a half.. I had a great time down there... our club has some really great fellers in it.... everybody was really laid back and had a lot of fun kidding around and such... I wished that my batteries hadnt gone down on me saturday because i really felt i could have caught a limit on the pattern we had found..... just one of those things though...
