Hit the water this AM with Kevin Johnson and his Dad John from Nashville. It was bizarre launching at Wolftever at daylight and NOT A SINGLE SOUL THERE! I felt like I was breaking the law... like maybe they'd declared the lake closed and nobody told me. A week or two ago I would have had a tough time finding a parking place. The Johnson's were troopers... Kevin and his girlfriend Angela had a blast catching catfish with me last year. He was hoping for a repeat crappie performance with Dad. Mother Nature had other plans. We perservered, ice in the guides and all.... managed a grand total of six nice-sized crappie for the morning. Caught quite a few short fish... and had lots of fun messing with bluegill, yellow bass and assorted other fishes we could entice to eat a wax worm on a tube jig. We caught a total of six species... no size but decent numbers. We basically stayed hidden in the backend of Wolftever. Kevin thought he might want to catfish, but after experiencing the bitter cold tucked away in The Creek, he wisely decided he didn't want any part of the main lake and her whitecaps.

You are either the best guide on Earth or completely nuts. Either way you are the man for getting out there day. Bravo.emoWorthy emoWorthy emoWorthy

I sure that it has been really brutal out there the past few days. I haven't been able to get out there because of work schedule but I should get out there sometime in the next few days.

Must be one of those take the good with the bad things isn't it Richard. You da man for hangin' in there.
