I've used scent drippers in the past with mediocre sucess, but my question is, "Is it too early to use sexual attractants?"

Reason I'm asking is that I've been finding some SERIOUS buck sign behind the house, and I'd really like to get him before the "suppository gun" idiots hit the woods. In the last week I've found three fresh scrapes and several substansial rubs that I know weren't there last week. I'm considering hanging a dripper with Tink's 69 in it for muzzleloader season.

Any thought's/suggestions? emoScratch

No, its not too early I'm hearing reports of chasing from Illinois to Georgia. I've never tried a dripper, and in 12 years of deer hunting I've only killed one buck that came in on some "doe juice". I'm not saying I dont believe in scents, I guess I'm saying if you do now is good time to use them. It will be another week or so before I get to get some quality time in the woods again but I'd be banging antlers together, that has worked alot more than scents for me. Good luck and I look forward to seeing a picture of whatever is tearing your woods up!

Bucks in the 2.5-3 year old range are usually first to start "cruising" for the first doe that may come in heat early.Pre-Rut is one of the best times to use scent in my opinion. We should be in the peek of Pre-Rut right now.

100% Agree! :)

I watched a nice six pointer chase does yesterday evening. He was even grunting. Very fun to watch. I've seen a few rubs but no scrapes as of yet. May be just a lil' early for the esturus scent.

I do love using them drippers with the active scrape..good stuff!
