I got a evinrude 225 ficht 2000model and I've Replaced the computer Fuel pump ,switch, solenoid and it still won't run it will start for about 30 sec and putt putt putt die ...checked fuel pressure it's good between 25-30 tried a new battery nothing if I hold the switch over in the start position it will continue to run ...could it be the stator... The reason for replacing the computer was because oil injector pump would not cycle the motor ran fine until it would blow the 10 amp fuse ( and it would not blow all the time) after we put the other computer on it it would not run more than 30 sec so we put my other one back on and it wouldn't run either more than 30 sec any advice would helpful

I had Honda car that would only run in the start position. It turned out to be a bad contact for the on position in the switch. So, if you can get to the wiring on the switch you can use a meter and check for continuity at the run position. Be sure and disconnect the battery for this test.

check the ground cable where it connects to the engine . there should be 2 or 3 in the same place .....the safety shut off also has tricked many people ......the coils will have power to them when the switch is on ..if not maybe wrong switch...... just some ideas i would check

If you tie a rope around it and throw it over the side it makes a good anchor

Had one of the original Ficht engines. Ran good for a year and then spent more time in the shop than on the water. One of the Evinrude techs took it all apart and could never get it to run for more than two or three trips. Got rid of that one and got one of the newer Fichts made by Bombardier. A good deal through Evinrude, about $12,000 for a 225. 114 hours and it detonated a cylinder 4 months out of warranty. They wanted $7,500 for the parts plus labor with a six month warranty on the repaired engine. Now have an E-Tec 200 with a five year warranty. Stayed with Evinrude to save the cost of putting in new controls. The E-Tec has been a good engine. Fuel efficient and quiet. Had one problem, the lower unit went out. Got it replaced quickly, under warranty. Of course that happenned at a tournament. Chuck Bennington loaned me his boat, so I could fish the tournament.
Good luck to Turkey Killer finding the right person to fix his problem.

Fshn CPA..... The motor has actually not gave me any problems ...... Plugged it up and it's having a voltage drop so it's not firing the injectors .... It goes from 37 volts to 17-25 after motor starts .... Got the manual out checked the resistance on the 40 volt plugg it said it should not show any continuity an if it does then the stator is grounded ... It had .56 resistance on it so ordered a stator should be here today or tomorrow thanks for the replies guys

Sounds like you have it under control. I am not much of a mechanic and would have to rely on others to do that work.

Andy had done good on it so far it just seems like like every time we fix something its something else the switch started screwing up on it befor the computer problems and fuel pump... He thinks that is what caused all my problems to start with
