Found a stratos 1998 with one on it and i don't know a thing about them. Carb or fuel inj.? gas mileage? reliability? thanks.

They are 60* engines. Pretty strong for what they are. VERY common engine. I have built 4 of them this year.

It will be carbureted . The fuel injected ones will say FICHT on them. If it is a 98 FICHT, they are one of the worse DFI engines made. They had issues.

Asking for a opinion and you will get alot of mixed answers. Just like anything else, some will say they love theirs and other say they hate them. JMO....

I have definetly been told to stay away from the ficht, but i just didn't know any thing about that particular motor. Do you think a 150 in this motor would be to0 much motor for a stratos 273?

I am not familiar with all models of statos boats, so I can't say. Most of the 17-18' statos/javelins I have seen have came with this engine either as a 150 or 175. Just my observations........

We have a 1994 stratos 284 with a johnson faststrike same thing as an intruder strong running quick starting motor i really like it alot it is a carb motor if you get it if the oil injection isnt off i would have it took off

I have acouple of freinds with this combo and they both haven't had any problems.
