Looks like Im going to have to replace or rework my prop. Ranger 519VX/200HP 2001 evinrude ficht. Ive read that the Merc chopper modified to OMC is good. Many ideas out there on a prop. Ive been directed to Dans in Soddy for help. Yall want to weigh in on this. I'd like some input.

Choppers work better on lighter boats. You have a heavier boat and will need something that's designed to carry a heavier load. I would look at the Tempest plus or a Raker if you want a 3 blade or a Trophy plus, Renegade, or TXP if you want a 4 blade. I have always used Performance Propeller in soddy and have would highly recommend them. Great bunch of guys.

"Big Ear" Choppers work well on heavy bowed boats because of the large blade area. They have great lift. I have tried mine on several boats "heavy" boats with good results. There are a lot of good props out there. The chopper just happens to be my favorite, but I also like the trophy, Laser, and the original Tempest. These are just my opinions and experiences.

I have a 25 tempest plus that I modified the flow torque hub to fit omc as well. (I am too cheap to buy the other kit).

I second Performance Propeller. If you currently have a raker, take it to them and have them add some cup to it. You will be amazed at how much better it will run. They will be able to get you in the right direction. JMO......
