Evinrude Trolling motor

I had to replace the cable assembly on the bow arm. I still need a little help adjusting so that when I pull it out of the water it comes up smoothly and not get stuck on the front. I think this adjustment needs to be done on the water. I'm sure its something minor and I'm sure someone on here can give some good advise. Thanks

You have to adjust the cable so the center nut in the cable is just adjacent to the big pulley on the rocker arm. Too lose and it will travel too far. And too tight and it will snap and won't last long. You can do the adjustment in the driveway just drop the trolling motor and slowly tighten the cable and do testing until it's right.
