Has anyone ever used these on your trailer bunks and are they worth messing with? They are supposed to help the boat slide on and off.

I have to replace the carpet on one of my bunks and thought while I have the boat off the trailer it would be a good time to install them.

Yes I have used them and they will do exactly what they were designed to do. I got on the trailer with little effort and off with a lot less. The best advice I can give you is do not unhook your bow from the trailer while backing down the ramp. I am going to add some to my toon trailer next.

Also if you have a drive on trailer and you want your boat to "stick" at the bow stop while loading it, you'll have to make sure you dont submerge your trailer too much or your boat will slide off before you make it to the front to hook your bow eye to the hook.

Its not really a product I would recommend for fiberglass boats. Aluminum boats and pontoons use this system frequently. We haven't seen or heard of any complaints with fiberglass boats but I do know that the harder plastic can leave marks and possibly scratch the gel coat.

Bbass is right about the fiberglass boats, the glides will eat them up. I thought about using them a couple of years ago and was steered away from them by a rep of a very reputable boat manufacturerdue to hull damage caused byglideequipped test trailers..

This is why I like the forum. It is really nice to get opinions from the real world and not someone trying to sell you something. My boat is an aluminum Tracker. It is not that heavy but I am often unloading and loading by myself. I may give them a try. The worst that can happen is that I have to take them back off. So if anyone sees a Tracker drifting with someone swimming behind it that may be me and it slid off before I could stop it. I will catch it eventually! emoThanks

Groomer, just send Debbie after it, she looks to be in better shape then you and me anyways. emoPoke Jmax
