Hey folks, a heads up for those who have just been laid off, or god forbid soon to be laid off.
This is for TN I don't know if this applies to other states , but is a big issue in TN.
DO NOT FILE if you worked any the week you where laid off, then on Sunday you try to do the weekly update, if you do , it will mess up your claim, and you can forget talking to anyone in Nashville unless you do it in person, and Don't even try to update via phone, its almost impossible to file or weekly update via the phone. emoBang
Wait until you have not worked for 1 full week to file.
The web site works 99.9 percent of the time, its a waste of time to even try on the 1-877-813-0950 number
You can file the claim and certify at https://www.tennesseeanytime.org/labor/
I filed on Wed the same day was laid off, I then certified on Sunday and claimed the 3 days I worked, who knew that it would hose my claim ? , and would take 3 weeks to get fixed. Ive tried every avenue was desperate to get someone to help me fix, never could talk to anyone that could fix this.
Even the local Chattanooga office couldn't do anything, except tell me to refile because it was hung up in the system and gee you filed too quick!
So I refiled, and it didn't go thru correctly .. Today I finally decided I had to find a way to get this fixed, got on the TN gov web site and started emailing anyone and everyone connected to the Dept of Labor or Employment Security at about 11am ... by 4:30 eastern time aka ( FAST TIME ) I had received 2 phone calls from the state and the issue was fixed.
I also included a pdf print out of the failed weekly certification message I got when I certified the first time, a scanned copy of my separation notice as well as a pdf printout of the conformation I received when I filled my orig claim on the 7th of Jan.
I have a free program I print to that makes a PDF of any thing you want to print , instead of wasting ink and paper for something you may never need, or may need to fax or in this case email to someone.
Its called Primo PDF http://www.primopdf.com/ great program sure saved my butt this time!
So They tell me FRIDAY I should have my first check! emoParty emoParty emoParty emoParty emoParty
I hope this will save someone else from going though this mess and headache .. its bad enough to get laid off then this happens on top of that!!
