Jmax got me up waaayyy too early this AM to go down to the happy hunting grounds of Guntersville. Folks had really been tearing the bass up down there. My first time ever to fish with the legendary Jmax and we had a fun, productive day.. He is a better guide than my personal guide MB. It was cool but the water was 49 or 50 degrees and we were fishing in Mudd Creek in 3 feet of water or less. water was stained. Jmax, caught the first keeper (nice 3 pounder) and the smallest (6"). He made reference to CCSM when he caught the 6 incher. Still lots of boats in the area wanting to catch all those big bass... it did not happen. Many were leaving early or moving to other places.. We caught 25 bass and one big crappie. Only 6 were keepers and we would have weighed in 12+ pounds with best 5. Just wanted to let everyone know that we had a double on 2 very large fish. They weighed 12 pounds a piece. Small mouths, large scales, kinda yellow in color but man what a fight. Don't laugh they were fish...All fish were caught on traps. (red, or blackback yellow sides and something Jmax was throwing) I guess the bass had been aggrivated enough over the past 2 weeks so really wasn't into us trying to catch'um. All in all had a great time with a new found friend. I heard someone say they thought we were "Harry and Charley" from BASSMASTERS. I know I forgot the camera... We ran into 2jigs and fished in same area for awhile....I don't think he was catching anything...LOL
