I put a new set of Goodyears on the old trailer today at a friend of Fat Albert's service station. We then put in Soddy Creek and fished a couple of hours beginning about 10:30 AM. Fat Al laid it on the Bomber today. No more whining, no more excuses, a plain ol' butt whuupin'. If it had not been for Mr Wiskers jiggin' spoon, I would have experienced the old Skunkeroo! Al had the LM on before I finished my first cast. He caught it on a smoke grub off a blowdown. Later, he caught the chunky little Brown fish on a jig & leather on the creek channel bluff.

I jigged up 2 little 4" white bass on a spoon. Al tried to take a picture but he couldn't do it. Big Dummy!!

Beautiful day but the breeze was cold!!

I came back and cropped the SM picture. The fish was way prettier than FA!!emoLaugh emoRolleyes

That's how to get revenge FA. He had to use that old jigging spoon that I had to force on him to get a fish in the boat. I hope you did not rub it in too much.emoLaugh

There I wuz with all the beautiful colors of Autumn put'n a whopping on him and I was the one that suggested he use the spoon. If I had not told him I would have put a skunkin on him... I will not beat him over the head about it, but I had 4 bass and he had 2 dinks and I mean dinks... 4 inch baby white bass..I took two good pictures of his catch but you know he is a wizard with the camera so don't know what happened to them..
The water temp was 66 and the outside air was cool... I did not want to wear the pj's so the shorts were comfortable... 2jigs called to tell me get some clothes on but I wear shorts nearly year round. Back to the report... he was about to panic over the skunk but the spoon that MrWiskers gave him proved to be a savior for him. It was an outstand performance on my part. I will not gloat too much cause I know he will get me back..LOL
It was a good day for the Fat one...it is about time... Still it is great to be on the water with a good friend, nothing like it. emoGeezer

Sure wish there was an easy way to run DNA on some of those fish. I swear the picture of that "brown" fish looks like there's a little "spot-smallmouth" hybrid action going on (meanmouth?)? I know there's now way to tell for sure, but it just doesn't quite look like a regular old smallmouth.

Richard, you could be correct. Now that I have taken a long look at the picture it sure has those traits... she wasn't out of the water but about 30 seconds so we did not look at her a long time. We are practicing what we preach, git'um back in the water quick.... but it does look like a mean mouth.. she sure fought nice.

I would have to agree with the hybrid theory, not only because of the colors, look at the fork in the tail as well. Did it have a tongue patch?

Way to go Al! I knew you could change the luck in that back seat!

What I really like is how you managed to get that little one that Allan caught in the same picture!

Clint, I went back and looked at your SM that's in the HOF. It has a forked tail as well. At the time, the actual fish looked like a regular smallmouth to me. It seems to me that a "Meanmouth" has a "football" body. It may be a meanmouth since I am not aware of ever seeing one in the flesh.

AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! I have just been scared for life. That blow up was WAAAAAAYYYYY too close a shot of FA's leg!!!!!!!emoVomit

I never noticed that the first time I looked, However after a closer look I think that you are right. If you take away a little brown the lateral line splotches look very much like a big ole Spotted Bass.
