RE: **Family Traditions #2 RESULTS and REPORTS**

Good day to be out on the water today. A little windy towards the end but the temps were great. Honkytonker and I started out in a slough throwing topwater, hoping to get a reaction strike. On the first or second cast HT hooked up with our first fish. After that, no more topwater bites. We stayed in that slough for about an hour throwing crankbaits and spinnerbaits with only short fish in the boat. We headed to Soddy Creek after that and fished rocky banks in 2-8 feet of water. I lost a keeper under the boat and we had several fish go 14.5" and 14.75" but couldn't get them stretched out. We decided to head back towards HBSP and fish some areas around there before heading in. We stopped in another little slough to get out of the wind. We got to the very back and was ready to leave because it was getting too shallow. I casted my spinnerbait in about a foot of water near a stick-up and my big mama rolled on it. FINALLY, our first keeper of the day and it ended up going 6.4 lbs. It was about 1:00 and we decided to head into Chesterfrost to avoid the wind. We picked up more small fish on spinnerbaits around docks. It was 2:45 and time to weigh-in. We pulled into Harrison Bay and Channing said "let's try this area for 5 minutes before we head in". I lost my beloved spinnerbait :( Channing said "one more cast" Shaw Grigsby style and chunked his spinnerbait. Next thing I know he was calling for the net. A short fight and net swoop later we had our 2nd keeper at 2:58. His big mama went 7.25 lbs.

It was good seeing everybody at the ramp today. Looking forward to another fun tournament next month. And thanks to Channing for his backseat emoThumbsup

RE: **Family Traditions #2 RESULTS and REPORTS**

Here is my report.....

Everyone will say that it was a brutal day to be on Chickamauga. The wind was blazing today LOL. We had a good morning bite w/ 15lbs the first hour/half mostly caught on traps...... From there the bite slowed for us, atleast the solid fish were hard to come by..... I culled a few times throughout the rest of the day flippin, 3 culls after 12pm..... Had 3 over 4lbs today all caught in 6-8ft brush on jig.... Overall over 30fish today but not many solid keepers the spawn has definetly slowed the big bite.

We were very fortunate to get a win on Chickamauga w/ under 20lbs..... Heck of a lake, can't wait for this cold front to get gone, next weekend should be great....

RE: **Family Traditions #2 RESULTS and REPORTS**

Davo and I started in Davo's favorite morning spot ( shallow baron point), and I'm here to say that it didn't disappoint at all. I had 2 keepers in the boat in the first 10 minutes. Got slow for about a half hour, so we cover some water and came back to the spot. We saw several good sized bass chasing shad so we threw xr50's at them and it paid off. I know I at least hooked a fish every cast for 10 minutes including a 4lber. So now we had out limit, but needed to cull 2 of them badly. Headed to some rip rap and Davo put 2 more good keepers in the boat and from there went flipping stumps and brush. You know were everyone is supposed to catch good fish. Not us, Davo caught at least 10 more bass, but all but one was a slick. He did manage 2 more keepers, but by then we were culling literally ounce for ounce. Headed back to the ramp only to face a really rough lake and big rollers. Davo's rod strap came undone and one of his rods committed suicide and the others tried to join him, but luckily he grabbed them in time. That was it for us for the day. I would venture to say we caught 30+ fish, with a lot of keepers, but that's all they were( barely). Had a good time ! davo has pictures he'll be putting up later on.

RE: **Family Traditions #2 RESULTS and REPORTS**

Let me say first that I yelled out at the weigh in"If I had more help we would have had more weight". I caught one keeper all day and Eric culled it so I was" Super Goober Net Man " today. We started by running up river to a slough that I forgot the name of and started throwing spinnerbaits and a buzzbait to laydowns . Eric quickly tagged our first two fish on a spinnerbait .Our next two keepers came soon after that but it was kind of a neat deal so PAY ATTENTION ! Eric slung his spinnerbait two different times and had two thumps on the blade like the bass just swatted at it and both times he pitched right back into the same spot with a tube and caught them both! Finally I started flipping up some fish with a tube but fish after fish would not keep.I got our last keeper by 10:10 flipping the tube but it was our smallest fish.It slowed down the rest of the day with Eric and I boating a few more short fish.We ran back down into wolftever about 2:00 and the wind was blowing on a row of docks when Eric caught our final keeper on a spinnerbait and culled my fish. Thanks for the tournament Chris and Eric thanks for kickin the ever lovin crap out of me.

RE: **Family Traditions #2 RESULTS and REPORTS**

Great reports guys.

Mike and I had motor problems this morning and didnt want to chance it. After FINALLY getting the motor up (Mike soaking wet!) and on the trailer, we headed to the house...

.

Decided to get my boat around 11:30 and head to the creek..met up with Davo and Chris to hand off the scales then went fishing. We ended up with around 11-12 pounds in 4 hours in the creek. Mike nailed a nice 4.5-5lber. All fish caught on Jigs.

RE: **Family Traditions #2 RESULTS and REPORTS**

Friday I had gone out and managed two nice keepers on a spook, saw two more roll on it that would have kept and I was only out there for about two hours. With this in mind Churly and I decided to go for the early morning top water bite shallow. Turned out to be a bad idea.:( They were there but apparently only wanting to chase my spook off. Had two slicks in the boat with the first fifteen minutes but no keepers. Almost left the area but decided to stay on it a little longer. Finally had a good keeper just bust it and I set the hook on a solid nice one, fought it to the boat, Churly standing there with the net and we were both watching a good 2.5/3lber under the water turning sideways and she just came off.emoBang Next one about 3 came all the way out of the water and down on the spook, took it under and I set the hook...nothing.emoBang I ended up with at least 5 or 6 solid keepers just kill that spook but not get hooked. I did manage our first keeper on it but the hook fell out of her in the boat.emoScratch Churly put on a sluggo and managed a nice one on it about 3. Left there and our next spot yeilded a zero. Hit one more shallow stump flat and put another slike in the boat. Chruly had one pick up a brush hog and move it about five feet, he set the hook and nothing.emoScratch Then right as we were about to leave there I saw another stump under the water and hit it with the spook. Boom..set hook nothing, another three cast and another three strikes. All from a bass that looked about 4 lbs.emoAngry We then throw everything at that fish and could not get it to hit again.emoScratch We left the shallows in frustration.emoMad We headed for the river where I managed two more keepers on the drops along the main river on blades. It was a day that we just could not seem to keep them on or we just missed them all togather. We ended with four keepers just over 9 lbs and about 10 slicks.emoRedface

Congrats to the winners and thanks to fishinvol for another great Tx.emoThumbsup

Also a big thanks to wetwillie for letting Churly and I use his boat while he was out of town and mine was in the shop. emoWorthy Jmax

RE: **Family Traditions #2 RESULTS and REPORTS**

started off in Harrison Bay area fishing shallow flats and points. did not put any fish in the boat until after 10am. ended up going back to plan B which happened to be the fish we were catching yesterday. plan B was pretty much a bumber as well as the 3,4 5&6 pound fish we were catching yesterday were now barely keepers. my partner had one fish come off during it's final run for freedom that would have went 5lbs or better. around 2pm i remembered a spot that was holding several buck bass last weekend. right close to this area there was a long submerged point with deep water close also. ended up making the run and it payed off with a nice fish in the six pound range. thought i had a shot at BIG FISH until i saw HONKEY walking with two grown fish. nice job on those pigs HONKEY and BassmanIU. all our fish were caught in less that 6' of water on cranks and traps. thanks for taking your time with the TX chris. looking forward to seing everyone in late spring when the deep bite turns back on. emoTongue

RE: **Family Traditions #2 RESULTS and REPORTS**

Congrats to all. I wish I could have taken part, but worked on fixing my depth finder...

RE: **Family Traditions #2 RESULTS and REPORTS**

Our day started with Rachel swinging a 4lb'er in the boat 5 minutes after launch. From there it was all downhill. A short while later I had a 3+lb'er come off at the boat with the net an inch shy away from saving it. We went the remainder of the day with quite a few fish caught, but keeper #2 didn't come until about 1:30. Aside from an excercise in futility (and stupidity) when we ventured into Wolftever with the other 4 million boats, we pounded shallow (2'-8') flats with hard bottoms, good wind-blown current, and a proximity to deeper water. The keepers fell for cranks.

Thanks Chris ... and great seeing everyone else.

RE: **Family Traditions #2 RESULTS and REPORTS**

Threw everything in the box in water from 2- 15 ft. Stump flats, blow downs, points , pockets (looked for spawners but water was too dirty for me) basic junk fishing day. Caught fish on everything except a swimbait.

This was my first outing with youguys, and I thought things were ran very smoothly.

Thanks to all those involved.

RE: **Family Traditions #2 RESULTS and REPORTS**

Thomas (aka twilson) and I started the morning down by the dam where he picked up a 6lb'er in the Sportsman's Tx. Caught some shorts and moved to the other side where I had done well last week and Thomas stuck our keeper smallie. We caught several more 14"ers as well as a keeper spot. Around 10 we decided to hit the honey-hole I found last week and the wind made it impossible to fish. In hindsight, we probably should have stuck it out and made it work, but I had a place in HB that I figured we could fall back on. The wind wasn't much better in the Bay but we did pick up another keeper. Around 1 we headed into Wolftever and flipped up another keeper across from Polo's. He was on his dock and I waved, but he was preoccupied with crappie and didn't notice. Needing just one more fish to fill the limit, we headed towards one of those "always worth 1 fish" spots. Within twenty feet from it, a pair of crappie fisherman came around the point and immediately stuck a 3.5-4lb'er
bang.gif
...would have put us around 16lbs. All in all, we probably caught 20 or more bass, but most fell short of that magical 15" mark.

Had a great time fishing with Thomas and really enjoyed the ride in the new Triton. Congrats to TritonLB and Dad on the win and HonkyTonker/BassmanIU for their fat largies.

RE: **Family Traditions #2 RESULTS and REPORTS**

This is a copy of inthebox30lbs's report on the fishing reports.

Had a nice but windy day on the Chick. My G3 got a good workout it the wind, I love the boat except for days it blows like it did today. Water temp 59-63. Blasted off and headed up river toward Soddy. It didnt take long to get into some fish. Found fish in several slough's 4-10 ft of water was best today. Started with RT's early and then fished a shakey head Zoom trick worm most of the day. We ended up with 16 fish with only 2 keepers. You all know the story we dropped several nice fish at the boat that would have weighed, what are you ganna do. Lost one real good fish right at the boat on a swimbait at about 2:15 in 15ft of water. Had a great time fishing, nice to meet alot of the guys, looking forward to upcoming toureys. My partner Ron had a great time this was his first tourny and I think hes hooked. He did a great Job for a 14 year old

Ron with the two we weighed in

Had a good time fishing this tx. got a big strip on first stop and a 2# sm 4 small lm on worm all in 3ft of water.. made a run to sale creek fished big flats. got 5 lm on a rattleing rake none bigger than 17in. fished all day in sale creek. wind got up so we made the run to the park. never fished there before got the biggest fish of the day 3.5 lm broke my hook off the lure right at the net. that was the second time to day. the wind was so bad at the park we didnt wont to get back out in the river . so with a small limit that we had maybe 13 poumds we just loaded the boat and called it a day. thanks for leting us fish looking forward to the next one

Hey Guys sorry for the late report, Have had some family issues to take care of. Dad and I started out in harrison bay fishing shallow water with deeper water close by. Caught our first keeper pretty quick on a rattling crank bait, right at 3 lbs on the berkley scale. Picked up another 2.5 lb keeper pretty quick in the same spot. then the lights went out for dad and me. All we could catch from the on was those magical short 14 in fish...... Tried several locations in and around harrison bay and even fought the wind on the main channel. Just wasnt our day to catch any decent keepers. all in all a fun day spent on the water with my father. water temps range was from 64 to 65.5 degrees most any were we tried. Ended up with only two keepers with a total catch of 13 bass and a couple of bluegill. Looking forward to the next one. Congrats to the winners and nice to see all of the decent fish brought in. Thanks Chris, Jim And Davo for the your time and effort.
