I went through the weekend thinking about how nice the Tx was that Bprice just put on. I know there has been several comments on how this site has changed however I for one thought the Tx was as good or even better then many in the past. Everyone seemed to get there early and share info and shake hands, ex.... All smiles and grins, great to see some faces that I never knew with names that were new to simi-new.emoToast Also it was great to see old faces of the ones that are the knuckleheads that have hung around over the last couple years telling lines and ribbing each other over whatever we could mustter up to rag each other over. Then after it seemed no one really wanted to leave for a while. We were all worn out due to conditions on the water but still a lot of folks stuck around to fellowship and talk fish.emoThumbsup Then several went to MCkey Ds after that and continued. If we had not been so worn out after doing that two days straight I would have like to do that also.:( I think my age was showing and I was one tired puppy. Still with all said that brought back to me what this forum was/is all about. Congrats to the winners, thanks Bprice for putting it on and thank you to all that came and fished it.emoAngel emoWorthy Jmax

Being one of the newer people, I couldn't agree more with you Jmax. It's kind of funny how you get to know others in a text environment then when you meet them in real life it's like you've known them for years. Gray Bomber and I walked up never meeting one another and just started talking like we had been friends for years. I enjoyed it a great deal. As did my son. He said that you guys are MUCH crazier than he thought you'd be. He said he really didn't know adults who fished TX's had THAT much fun. Considering he spent his day in the fetal position in the floor of the boat, I thought he was right on. Thanks to all of you. I really enjoyed myself. Hope to get in a boat with most all of you one time or another. Remind me to bring gloves the next time I fish with Bentrod. He don't like no whinin' in his boat!!!!!emoPoke emoLaugh emoLaugh emoLaugh

Amen and amen...

There has been a lot of talk around here about loosing the family atmosphere, etc...

I would encourage the doubters to PLEASE come to one of our weigh-ins. It don't matter if you hate bass, think they are bait, or just could careless for competitive fishing. Jmax is right, we hung around the ramp for an hour after the weigh in and then all went to dinner together. It was just a lot of fun, and nobody was a stranger. Folks were discussing patterns, what worked and didn't work... just a ton of good fellowship and information.

Our next Family Traditions tournament is March 22nd at Marion County Park on Nickajack... i'd encourage everyone to come to the weigh in and spend time with us.

I really wish I could have stuck around to shoot the breeze at MickieD's, but homework beckoned. Besides, the mood at the weigh-in seemed somber (look at the pics

) and you guys had probably had your fill of team-d and I

. Knowing that most of you struggled on such a sucky day to be on the water made it seem inappropriate to gloat over our victory.

Jason we know you can catch fish and are good at it.emoWorthy Seems everyone gets fifteen minutes of fame every now and then. You should have stuck around and gloated some. I looked for you two so I could shake your hands in person and congratulate you (also get some pointersemoBigsmile ) but you two had already left. Next time someone else can gloat unless you pull a repeat at the Nick.emoThumbsup Jmax

Great post JMax! I have not had time to see the pics yet, but I would love to see them and sticky them somewhere to promote the event. Please semd me the link whoever has it.

Not trying to hijack your thread Jmax, but I don't think a thing has changed on CFF> I think people's attitudes, perceptions and involvement has changed. That's natural. The site appears to me to be flourishing. At least it has been nothing but awesome for me and my buddies!!!!

Bent Rod and I didn't hang around very long after the weigh in, we both were frozen stiff as I know a lot more were too. I just had to have a little warmth from the truck heater. The somber looks from the crowd wasn't from disapointment it was from the cold, we all would have been in a different mood if the weather was warmer. This was my first tx and it probably won't be the last but I hope the next one is in warmer weather. I had a great time and we fished hard trying to compete. I got to meet a bunch of people that I got to put a face with a name. Thanks to everyone who had a hand in it, you did a supurb job.

Speak for yourself Jason, I would have loved to have stuck around a while longer and gloated! emoUpsmile

Seriously, I got to meet a bunch of you but wish I could have met all of you. I got up at 3am Friday, drove down and fished in the rain eliminating water (mainly all of Mudd creek). As is usual before a tournament, didn't get enough sleep Friday night so was anxious to get on my 160 mile drive back to Knoxville and take a long hot shower, grab a cold one and be a couch vegetable. Look forward to meeting a bunch more of you throughout the rest of the tournaments this year!

Well spoken JMax. THat is really what life is all about, Meeting new friends and old friends and enjoying the fellowship and discussions on a subject we all enjoy so much..fishing.. or in mine and Bbass's case Netting....emoToast

That is always the best part of our get togethers. I know that we all have and can catch fish. If is just about that we could charge 200.00 a boat and go through all the junk........ There is only one reason that I will pull my rig to G'ville and fish for 20.00. That reason is the chance to see and spend some time with all of you. Members of this forum make the time and effort worth while....
