I don't know why but FHS and I never catch fish on overcast calm days when you would think you could catch them?! For some reason we are better in high bluebird skies when they aren't supposed to bite! Yesterday just wasn't a good day for us. The water temp was 61 on the main river. We tried deep most of the day with not much luck then we got mad and tried shallow where we could find lots of fish eating minnows but we couldn't get them to bite. We saw one 5 pounder eating minnows but we couldn't catch him.
It wasn't just you two guys yesterday Lance. Heck ya'll only lost by less than a pound! I heard it was an early or nothing bite. Fri. we had 16-17Lbs, Sat 2.8Lbs
. I talked to several guys with the same experience. Better luck next time.
WE CAUGHT FISH AT A GOOD RATE.... JUST NOT MANY KEEPERS. WE FISHED IN THE BACK OF CREEKS AND CHASED MINNOWS ALL DAY. WE CAUGHT FISH ON JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING CB, SILVER BUDDY, LIPLESS CB, AND WORM. JUST FOLLOWED THE MINNOWS AND CAUGHT FISH IN AND AROUND THEM. 10' OF WATER
