Well everyone loved the reports last year so Im gonna keep them up. I got a new immature(passage) Redtail on Oct 8. She was hunting 3 weeks later and shortly after got her first squirrel. I was walking along side a creek and she was following shortly behind me. I had called her down to the glove to move to a new area and on her way she folded her wings up in a crook of a tree and slammed a squirrel on the backside that I didnt see. By the time I got over to her she had him under control and let her feed up all she wanted on it. Nice short but awesome flying. We were in the woods roughly an hour when she got this one. I have attached some pics of her. Since then I have forgotten to carry a camera with me and the cell phone pics didnt turn out any good. Also attached are some pics of another hawk that I got friday. A friend of mine offered to give me this little Harris Hawk and Im thankful he trusts me enough to let me have him. Hes been in a breeding chamber with a female for the past year and half and I have some work to do with him to get him in hunting condition but it shouldnt take long and then we will be after the rabbits, crows, and ducks hopefully.

Absolutely beautiful! I would love to come up to Spur's sometime if you take them up there. I've only got to tag a long and watch once, but it was an awesome thing to watch!

Erik anytime you wanna get the birds on the tree rats let me know. Be more than happy to bring them over, always looking for new places to fly the birds and not run into gun hunters that actually try to shoot at the birds.

XLD anytime you wanna get out with me or any other guys in town when we have our group hunts let me know.

Me too! ... whenever you guys are gonna have a "demonstration hunt / flight", I would love to join in and watch! I've always thought that was so cool! Only saw a little on TV and the movies.

Our neighborhood is in an old pasture and we have seen at least 2 or 3 hawks in the last 4 years take either small birds or mice out of our backyard. It's really cool to watch them feed, i'm sure they have been feeding where our houses now are for a long time.

Thanks for posting!

thats awesome and you got beautiful hawks. i talked a guy on here about a year ago about falconry and i would like to try it
