I received a call from a guy I use to work with the other day. He had lost his job and was running out of options. He said the pantry was getting low and hated to ask but could I please kill him a deer if I could. He really needed the meat. I told him I would try my best to get him a couple if I could.
Tried my best to kill him a deer all week and was having no luck even seeing a deer let alone killing him one.
When I got sit up this afternoon on the ridge behind my house, lowered my head and asked God to put a deer in front of me. 30 minutes later this buck walked up. First deer I have seen all week.
I have killed some really nice deer over the years, big racks, legitimate wall hangers, but this little buck feels like my greatest hunting accomplishment.
I took the deer to his house and was met by two truly grateful people. It was like I had presented them with a great gift. It was an amazing feeling to give someone something they truly needed. I don't plan to stop with a deer. I will try my best to help him find a new job and get them back on their feet.</p>
