I took the week off to fish our lake. Fished alone Mon & Tue, and with a long-time friend Wed-Fri. Caught fish each day but overall it was slow. All fish caught on plastics in 3-5 feet of water. Not one fish on a crank, jerk, jig or spinner bait. T-rigged small worms, lizards, brush hogs and some wacky worms were most productive. Fish very slow! Some fish were in shallows of the main channel but most were in various slews from Possum Creek to a couple miles below Harrison Bay area. Largest fish was the first one on Wed at 7.18 caught by my buddy on has boat. Used my boat the rest of the time. I got the new boat in Mar and I’ve got everything dialed in on it now so I can concentrate on catching fish (I hope). Best day we had 22 bass between the two of us, worst day (Thu) just 2. We fished from daylight to about 2pm each day except Fri when we called it a day at noon due to honey do lists for both of us. It was great for me to fish for several days in a row and to fish with my good friend. I’m now back to my weekend fishing (mostly with the bulk of the fleet) but my week of “retirement practice” was great.
