First I would like to thank everyone that's responsible for this site. I just found it about a week ago. I'm new to the area and just started fishing the lake (Chick) this summer with my 8 year old son. We have had a great time learning the lake and catching a few fish along the way. As of right now we have been from the dam to grasshopper creek. We have found some fish in wolft. creek and Down toward the dam in a few of those cuts on the right. We usually drive up to grasshopper and launch from there to fish that creek. I'm interested in trying to find some more spots for us to fish. I've heard you guys mention a few that I'm trying to locate. The catfish hole in front of sequoyah sounds interesting to my son. I would love to hook him up to one of those big cats. So far his largest fish is a 4 lb large mouth he caught in Wolft. creek in June. I would like to know about Gunstocker. Where is it located and if there are any dangers I should know about to get there. I will be launching out of Harrison this fall and winter. Any info Passed is appreciated. When I go from now on I will post a report. Hopefully I will get to go Thursday afternoon. Thanks and God Bless you. P.S. Any other spot info volunteered is welcomed. I know this is a touchy subject but are there any spots to catch smallmouth in the lake. Thanks again first time user.

BioFisher, it's great to hear from you. If you remember, we went out fishing from my house a year or two ago out in Wolftever. Tell your wife V. I said hi! Give me a call if you still have my phone number, if not, leave me a message. I would love to get your son on some of the catfish I'm on right now. I haven't caught the 60+ lbers but 2-12 lber's galore in the spot I've been on. The spot that I've been on is in an eddie off the bank where the river runs right along the bank then moves away from the bank leaving a feeding shelf and some really big rocks scoured by the current down there. If the river is running there are fish there and it's easy fishing. V. told me you got a boat, I'd love to see it. Let me know.

Welcome to the gang Biofisher. Your input is certainly welcomed and appreciated. Since you primarily launch out of Grasshopper, we've probably crossed paths a time or two.

Gunstocker is up the Hiwassee. Be very careful up in there this time of the year now that the water has dropped. In fact, with only the channel to safely run, I don't even fish the Hi at winter pool.

Join us on the 12th if you're able.

If you you head up the Hiwassee from the Tennessee, it is the last creek on the right prior to the 58 bridge. However, as of 11/1, Gunstocker is off limits until April.
