Finding the owner of some property?

How do u go about finding the land owner of some property. I know they live in California and they have some land I want to talk about but don't no how to find them

In Hamilton County? If so, public tax records (with names) can be searched by address at http://tpti.hamiltontn.gov/AppFolder/Trustee_PropertySearch.aspx

These days most governmental entities have public records (tax & others) available online.

http://tnmap.tn.gov/assessment/ will get you the rest of the state for areas, that do not maintain their own GIS

Last time I looked California didn't post property owner names or contact info on line other than property address, at least in the county I looked up.</p>

I'd call the County Assessor's office and ask.
