First deer for my nephew

I took my 12 year old nephew down to Redlands WMA friday night. He has never been deer hunting. We made us a make shift blind on the ground. Their was a huge pine on the ground behind us. About nine sat morn I looked around behind us and their were two does coming to us. We droped on our knees and crawed over to the pine. I laid my 308 over the tree. He came up and got controll of the gun. It was standing perfect. I said can you see it in the scope. Yeah. Are you on it. Yeah. Well shoot it I said. He pulled the trigger and I saw the leg fly up in the air. I said you got it. He was very excited. I hope he's hooked for ever. It was a mature doe and about an eighty yard shot.
