Just stumbled across this site wish I knew about when I had my boat. Im dying to get a new boat but probably have to wait until the spring of 09 ..booo Love seeing the pics of the smallmouth thats about all i fished for below the dam, always put in at Riverpark. Best Smallie i caught was 6.5 and caught it about this time of the year at 3 AM on a DD22.. Ill give ya guys a good spot- fish across the river from where the sewage runoff is just around the corner from the golf course to the blue walking bridge across the river by the rowing center.. Always had real good luck there think there is an old creek bed across there alot of structure... Trolling with a big DD 22 produced a lot quality bronzebacks.. Look forward to talking fishing with you guys and getting back on the river soon.. Been taking my son fishing from the bank last few months (he is 8 and just getting the bug) but dang once you had a boat bank fishing just isnt the same LOL save me a few of them smallies!!

Glad to have ya!! With tips like that, you will become the most-loved, AND hated member on the forum at the same time! emoLaugh emoLaugh I am kidding....those smallie fisherman are the most secretive bunch I have ever seen!
Dont worry about the boat issue, folks are always looking for a partner on here. Hit up NRGbigfish, and take pics!

thanks for the welcome.. hope somebody can catch some fish in that spot its a good spot..Holes are holes but if you dont know how to fish them it doesnt matter.. I also really liked to access road rock wall from the railroad bridge to that water runoff from the little pump station and then from cb robinson bridge to rivermont boat ramp but thats more a largemouth spot in the shallow rip rap.. My 2nd favorite smally hole probably from the big tall mile marker in the middle of the channel in the first bend to the next bend at country club.. Fishing right off the channel line in 8-12 feet off water running crankbaits..either DD 14 or 22's or Jensen HotLips in chartreuse. Ok this is killing me seeing all these pics and stories.. Im saving now for boat and truck purchase!!! Spring cant come soon enough

emoWelcome To the forum from Doc1, glad to have you. I can just see the holes you just mentioned tomorrow morning, there will be a traffic jam there with boats wall to wall, there will be a lot of computer keyboards ruined tonight from all the slobering from the masses on here, be on the bank there tomorrow morning and take pictures, this will be a sight for sore eyes.

LOL... by no means are they honey holes but those were usually some the first spots i would hit.. like i said i have been given many holes and never caught ****..you still gotta be able to fish.. Smallies are elusive but so damn much fun to catch
another good spot Im sure everyone knows about is the bluff wall at Hunter Art.. the best spots i found were the first dock before you get to Veterans bridge then fish through the bluffs the then the very end of the bluffs were it goes back to a rock bank was nice lot of rip rap in there.. I always liked hitting these holes at night with the blacklights.. Damn I got the fishing bug.. Ill be checking the swap forum looking for that good deal on a boat ASAP.. just finished school and started a new job so after we buy a house a boat and truck are high on the list of things to get.. of course the Wife has other ideas LOL but having a son who is dying to go also makes it a little easier to talk her into it.. again great site and thanks for the welcome wish i had knew about this place a long time ago!!
