Finally got my first rod done and took it to the river a couple of days ago, all in all I think it turned out great, I learned a ton that I need to do different on the next one but for the most part just small things , Not so thick on the epoxy on the guides for lighter action rods like this one and things like that,
The rod cast excelent and seems to be real responsive, and has good feel to it, although I didnt manage a single fish on it , I casted with it for several HRs and really like it cant wait to put it up against some big fish..
Already started a UL spinning real that I think is going to be great...

Great looking rod PJ, you are catching on fast, the next one will be a lot better to you. You learn as you go. Make notes and read em when making others. Bring that rod to me to try out for around a year and I will give you my thoughts on it.

Puddle, I think you done good.....after looking at the pictures I don't think you used too much epoxy on the guides...they look good and smooth and your wraps look good. Peanut must have helped....hahaha............now for the big test....when are ya goin to catch a fish on it.....????

Thanks guys,
I would love for you to see it in person its so hard to get a picture of it that really shows the detail well, Also if you notice I was able to talk mama into a new real to go along with it, its a AG 6600 Rocket kind of a cross between a c-3 and a c-4 , it has 3 bearrings but the higher 6 to 1 gear in it, So far I like it..

Doc , let me break it in right and as soon as im done its yours for a year im not sure how long the break-in will take, but ill keep you posted,,, ; }

Good looking rod from what we can see from the pics. What is the action/length? Are you going to build any catfish rods? I will guinea pig one for you if you want to give it a shot. emoBigsmile

I didn't want to give it back! It seems like a great rod and I was glad to help with the break in process!
