Well, Dad and I were on some fish 2 weekends ago; but neither one of us fished last weekend to see if they were still on the same pattern. Then, early this week when we looked at the extended forecast we both felt that the fish would not be where we had caught them before because the prediction was for brutal winds and cold temps. We had caught those fish in 2 to 5 F.O.W. so I guess we expected them to push off into some deeper water with the front passing through. Today's plan was to find some protected waters and work slow movers. Well, as it turned out the wind wasn't as bad as predicted and the temp didn't dip as much as predicted. Yea, it was windy, but we were still able to do some open water stuff that proved to be successful. I wasn't planning on that being possible given the forecast - glad the weatherman missed it. Our pattern was secondary points using lipess crankbaits for the most part. We did pick up a couple bass on 1/2 ounce GRN Pumpkin FB Jigs with crawfish trailers too; in deeper water, one of which contributed to our bag. We ended up taking second place with 11.9lbs I believe it was. Our totals were: 15 LM Bass, 8 of which were 15" or better.

Congrats to Davo & Mason with the monster sack. Another father son duo. Love it. Reminds me of Dad and I. This is the second bass tournament that Dad and I have ever fished. The first was when I was about 10 years old; and ironically i think it was out of Harrison Bay. We fish together about every weekend if schedules allow. We just do not participate in too many Derby's. We hope to participate in some more CFF Tourneys this year.

Thanks to the committee for all the hard work.

See everyone at RP....

Great post, son, glad I could mostly be your netman today! Congrats to Davo and his son for a monster bag and to the others who finished in the money and to all who competed under pretty tough conditions. Thanks to the committee also.

Nice, I didn't know I was dealing with "tourney pros". I am going to have to up game, emoPoke I couldn't catch a cold the last time out. Good job guys.

Regards, Norman

Norman (Labman), you had a hand in our 2nd place finish. Our biggest bass came from a spot you showed me on March 14, 2012. Thanks, man!

Great job guys, in most of our tournaments your weight there would have been enough to take it. emoThumbsup Jmax
