Dad and I went and messed around below the dam yesterday and caught a few fish. Dropped the boat in right at daylight and had our first stop to ourselves. We were pumped because that spot can yield some good fish from time to time but it didn’t happen yesterday. Pecked around all day fishing some of our old summer areas that have been good in the past and caught a few on soft plastics mostly. Couldn’t get them to eat a crankbait which surprised me. I never changed colors because the color I was using has always been good. Dad had a couple nips on a SB but no hookups.

He did scratch us off a couple picture worthy fish though. Always good fishing the river with Pete Sr.

Thanks for taking me, I really enjoyed it, although it got hot. We also got some action from small spots, largemouth, smallies and channel and flathead catfish, all on artificials and all fish released. Fun time!
