Had to run back to Publix today to grab some fresh seafood for dinner and man I tell ya, I ain't never seen prices like this store has. You'd think they done lost their minds.

King Salmon filets were $27.99 @ lb! How can you justify that much money for a lb of fish! I don't know what in the hell makes king salmon so valuable, but that's just plum rediculous. I guess some people have more money than sense. The little raggily striper filets looked like death and were still $19.99 @ lb! King crab legs were $7.99 @ lb.

I don't know if y'all watch "Deadliest Catch" on Discovery, but those guys put their life on the line and at least some die every year chasin' those crabs, for a measly $5 @ lb. These guys go through icy hell on earth to bring those crabs to market, what does a salmon fisherman do that makes those fish more valuable.

I think I'm gonna have to write a strongly worded letter to corporate on that one!

Although your profile does not tell where you are from, I'm assuming it is the Chattanooga area. Where is this Publix? I've shopped at the one in Nashville and love it. I wasn't aware that we had one around here.

There is a Publix 1 mile from my house in Huntsville... I love that place, only place I'll grocery shop.

I saw Whole Stripers for sale at Whole Foods in B'ham this weekend for $70 a piece... I laughed my head off!
