I just had a few questions to ask you all. I'm waiting for my Hummingbird 575 finder to come to me in the mail. I ahve a realitivly small boat, the transom is roughly 24 inches across. MY problem is that it says to mount it 15 inches from the outboard, but I don't have that much room. I've thought about doing the trolling motor mount, but I don't know if this is a good idea. Which one do you think would be the most effective, and provide the best results? If the transom is the best, since I may get some interference with the motor being so close on either end where would be the best mounting choices for this? Thanks in advance for some insight on this. I've been reading the installation manuals online, and am trying to plan for the installation when it come in.

Just off the cuff here but it sounds like your boat is pretty small so probably not too much motor. The 15 inch distance thing is to get you away from turbulence and false readings.

Run your boat and watch the water coming under the back. Mount your transducer in the quietest/smoothest water flow. The vertical alignment recommendations will still apply.

Good Luck
