Sunshine and I were fortunate enough to get to go fishing with a friend tonight. Put in at Sullivans and after dodging several thunderclouds, the night settled down and the fish starting biting. Sunshine had the fish of the night, a nice 3.25lb largemouth caught on a senko off of a bank. Earlier I had caught a 2 lb largemouth. A picture of Sunshine's fish is attached. Great night to be on the water.

Oh how true! Fish like that one will definitely keep Sunshine bright. There were several things that made catching this fish "sweet" for me. First, the storms finally moved through. We felt like a ping pong ball out there. We would run one way, fish for a few minutes, decide it wasn't such a good idea, and run back toward the ramp only to decide maybe we would go the other way and try that. Yep, we fished for a few minutes and then ran back toward the ramp again at which time it finally quietened down for the evening so we could stay out. Secondly, just catching that size fish was pretty darn fun. Thirdly, and most importantly for me right now as I continue to learn, I made a lure adjustment to try to catch bigger fish and it worked. Boy did I feel good about that! Lastly, and also something very cool, I caught it on my dad's old rod. I did catch three other smaller fish on the first lure. Needless to say, it turned out to be a beautiful evening and lots of fun for all three of us.
