Headed out of CF yesterday at 7 am. Beautiful morning, nice overcast skies with a slight breeze. Started on small pockets and sloughs right off the main lake. Tried for the early morning top water bite but that didn't play out. Ran to some of deeper spots and knocked on a couple doors, no answer. Hit some shallow main lake humps, nothing. Judging by the wind and cloud cover I assumed they were roaming. So I pulled out the old faithful Texas rig and went to work on main lake docks. Found them! Ended up with 15 in the boat and lost 3 at the boat. Fishing a stick bait, that's my go to for tough times. Nothing over 3-3.5 lbs but fun none the less. Hooked a couple smallmouth as well in shallow water. Everything was 4fow or less for us.
Needless to say, they weren't where I left them. My boat was down for close to 3 weeks, I've been very bored. But I was able to find some and get it smelling like fish again so all in all a great day. Once the yacht and cruiser"parade" began it was time to go. My bass boat is suitable for lakes and rivers not oceans lol. Thanks for reading
