I plan to fish Friday Morning up at Watts Barr. I'm wondering if I can count on catching fish around the docks like I did around Harrison Bay. Anybody tried shooting the docks up there for crappie? How about bass fishing up there, any pointers are welcome.

I am not a true Crappie fisherman, but I read all the reports that I can find here and elsewhere, and can tell you shooting docks is a great method everywhere. Hope that helps!

Hey FP, I wish you well. If it were me I would plan to target docks that have at least 11-15 feet of water at the ouside posts. If they are associated with the river or creek channel they will be better than if not. If you look at google earth and cross reference that with the depth charts at: http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/opn/TNRiver/ you can go right to an area of the lake that has likely docks to fish. If you want me to take a look for you let me know.

When you make the big left-hand turn into Piney. There are a series of docks on the left that sit right on the edge of the creek channel.  It's right across from the old Piney Point Resort. (I don't know if that still exists anymore).
