Fishing Fire and I got up and was on the lake around 6:45 on Tuesday. We fished the weeds some and picked a couple of nice fish on a white spinner bait and a white buzz bait. I decided to try some bluffs for willow fly hatches and finally found some. We either got in on the end of the hatch or it is just beginning as there was not near as many flys as I have seen in a hatch. The fish were really tearing it up! We used a white spinner bait, fished really slow but near the top and landed several nice largemouth, spots and even one small mouth. Plus we got a bunch of action from the bream. We were in one 200 yard section of bank with the water dropping rapidly to 16 foot just off the bank. We were just getting into them good when some guy in a Bayliner pulled up a few hundred yards away, put out two water rafts and begin to pull his kids in a big circle 200 to 300 years behind us in the river! He went from one bouy to the other, never going any further down river or up river. Unfortunately for us the bouys he used as a marker were the ones we were fishing close to all so. After being thrown around for 30 minutes or so we gave it up. Some of the waves this dude was making were actually white capping as they came in where we were! Makes you wonder on a calm Tuesday morning, the lake deserted, why he choose that spot when he saw a boat fishing the bank a few hundred yards away. I think he was clueless or just didn't give a damn one. Anyways, we ended up with about 35 fish, around 20 of them legal keepers. After we left we headed up toward the nuke plant to see if the directions DRC gave us were pretty easy to follow. We found the bottom humps and deep holes just like he had told us! Didn't have any bait with us to fish but we will be heading back soon. The catfish must really be biting down there. We saw about 10 boats, and I think we may have seen Frazier in his boat casting for bait in the boils. Headed home after that.
