Had a good day but it could have been better. Started off up river in Dayton throwing spinnerbaits shallow. In practice on wed it worked very well. Not on sat!! go figure. Fishing was tough for us until the clouds broke and the sun came out. Then the bite was on. The fish that we had been catching on blades turned into jig fish. The high preasure put the fish tite to cover. We flipped up all 5 fish with a 3/8 jig on wood. Lost another 3 pounder at the side of the boat. SHOULDA, WOULDA, COULDA. Thanks to every one, for holding a fun, friendly, compeditive, fishing tourn. See you all at Weiss.

It can't get any better than 1st placeemoLaugh! It appears that the majority of the fish at the weigh-in were flipped up.

I was on the chic saturday - we had a rough time getting bit. We had a tournament out of cottonport and 6lbs won it. I think the winner got his fish flipping the main channel. My partner and me flipped till our arms fell off- wood, rock, ditches, brush , and we still couldn't get bit. We do well on our local lakes(Tellico-FT loudon-Douglas- Wattsbar) But we are struggling in the river- on the chic. I guess the biggest part is, we are learning the lake. We fish it regular in the fall and we do pretty well in the current when the water is down. When the water is up we struggle. The chic is a big lake when the water is up and sometimes it is intimidating to navigate those shallow creeks. It is very different from the deep lakes we fish. Any good advice on fall patterns when the lake is up?
