Looking at solunar tables will give you a good guess. They show peak feeding periods, however, approaching fronts can turn the fish on early, so anytime that you can fish before a front should be good. Under stable weather condtions, the tables are fairly accurate. emoGeezer

I agree!
 
Sometimes it is better to understand daily movements of fish. These movements are more based of fish and their prey fish and the temperature and oxygen levels they prefer. Although ocean fish are influenced by the moon and its gravity (tide level), I believe conditions of light and temp affect fresh water fish more. But considering TVA kinds provides artificial tides, you ought to try the shallows when the water rises. And remember each type of fish has their own patterns.
