spent the morning beating around shallow just looking and trying to catch some staging fish, managed to catch a few on a cb but nothing of any size. went up the lake in the afternoon and beat around some more, looked at some deeper stuff but with water temps and clarity being what it is makes it REALLY hard for me to get into that. back to rocky shorelines with the cb to catch a couple of more. did catch one on the V-8 from a dock :) i think the fish are still more in the winter patterns but this week of warm weather should change that :)

did spend about 45 mins watching and talking to a guy pulling up gill nets. nice guy, didnt mind talking while he worked and Collin was in awe of all the the fish(catfish, drum and carp) he had in his boat. watched him turn about a 3lb largemouth loose that was caught in his net. i asked him whats the biggest bass he's caught in a net and he estimated it was close to 20lbs on the lower end of chick. these guys get paid by the pound of fish so i'd be willing to be he's pretty close to the weight of the fish.

Thanks for the report. I imagine those guys see a lot of big fish and I don't doubt that there is a fish bigger than the state record swimming in these waters. I don't agree with what they do but as long as they do it legally and keep up with it that's about all we can ask right now.

Thanks for the report. A lot of guys doing alright with the CB right now. Sounds like this guy was a lot better about managing his nets than the people from the previous post.
