spent most of sunday doing vehicle maint stuff but did get out in the evening with Collin to catch a few ledge fish on a cb and a swimbait.
got out early monday morning and started on a main river channel point, caught a 7, lost a 5 and had a 3lb smallie come off at the boat plus a bunch of other, less notable fish mostly on a spoon.
went back for breakfast with the family and Collin and i went out about 930. started the trip off right by hitting a big log, fortunately had just gotten up on pad so wasnt digging too hard. doesnt appear to have hurt anything and fished the rest of the day with no issues. Collin and I spent the day bouncing around looking for new ledge fish in the rain. found a few, caught a few and finally at 3, after fishing in the rain the whole day he said he was cold so we headed home. no sooner than we got the boat in the driveway the sun popped out. so....after dinner and a walk we put the boat back in the water about 730ish and fished til dark. we whacked em pretty good with a spoon, cb and swimbait, no bigs but plenty of fun. Collin had a 3lber break him off at the boat, his 6lb line and little light action rod just couldnt handle the fish rubbing on the boat. trying to teach him to keep the line and rod off the boat to avoid it but......he's 3!
