It was one cold windy day to be out on the water today but we had 18 boats show up anyways. ;) Several that said they were fishing never showed so they must have weinnied out...Sissys... emoPoke Even thou the weather was pretty bad there was some nice limits weighed in. The water was white capping in a lot of areas so some had to rethink their plan today. Cold, wind, mud, waves and a little rain was not the plan for most.

Here are the weights and order of finish for those that weighed in their fish today.

1st-Frizzell and Waters; 17.16 lbs also they had Big bass honors at 5.15 lbs. emoWorthy
2nd-Jmax and ashtray; 16.15 lbs with their biggest at 4.55 lbs.
3rd-England and Davenport; 15.09 lbs. with their biggest at 4.56 lbs.
4th-Moore and Steel; 14.21 lbs. with their biggest at 4.94 lbs.
5th-Fishinvol and Davo; 13.15 lbs with biggest at 4.71 lbs.
6th-Parkinson and Wilson; 13.03 lbs.
7th-Beetlespin and Joe Miva; 12.09 lbs.
8th-McWhorta and Warren; 11.88 lbs. with biggest at 4.14 lbs.
9th-Coffelt and Coffelt; 10.96 lbs. with biggest at 4.20 lbs.
10th-Solt and Pitassie; 8.37 lbs.
11th-Vincent and York; 7.43, biggest at 4.56 lbs.
12th-Darby and Hatfeild; 6.48 lbs.

The rest of the field did not weigh. emoBigsmile

Me and ashtray had a great time. emoThumbsup 22 bass came into the boat today with nine keepers. Had a couple 4s so we knew we had a good chance to win it but could not quite get enough to take first. We settled for second and feel good about what we had. Always nice to get paid to fish and we beat bettlespin. Most were caught on top water in the calm side out of the wind. Of the nine keepers one came on the horny toad which was also our biggest, three came on a crank and the other five on a spook. emoTongue Mostly we fished grass edges and the first maybe 30 feet off the open water into the grass. I highly recommend Ashtray as a partner, he is a excellent net man. emoToast I bet he starts throwing a spook more now. emoBigsmile Fish were caught off and on all day. Seemd to us the key was to find areas where there was shad working and the bass were near by.

Again, had a great time, thanks for putting it on Chris. emoGrouphug

Congrats to the winners. Seventeen pounds is a good weight. Especially on a tough day. Or should I say a day with tough conditions.

That wind................froze my............ off, We caught plenty of fish today but only Two where keepers and one of them was anorexic. So yep i am one those that did not weigh in. Had fun though. Thanks for putting this on fishinvol's.

Thanks everybody for showing up ! Tough day to fish, but they did bite, just seemed to bite with thier mouth closed. I cant recall to many days where me and Davo have missed more fish ever ! It was kinda crazy. But had fun and we'll do it again.

I bet me an Richardheadspin had 60 whiffs on frogs. It was discouraging. Usually if they show themselves we can flip in and get a bite but they wouldn't buy it today. Stupid fish!!!

Yep, it was a very tough day and too dang cold. We only put a total of 9 fish in the boat. Four of our five keepers came on a Spro bronze eye and the other came on a Super Spook Jr. We did have quite a few large fish hit the frogs, but they almost always whiffed on it and then would not come back. They wouldn't even hit if we flipped to them right after. We did get on what looked to be a really good area at about 3pm but it was in direct wind and miserable. There were a lot of fish in the area and they were pretty active, just not active on what we were throwing. Congrats to the winners, they took home about $500 for 1st place and big fish, 2nd place took home just over $200.

Thanks to Jmax and Ashtrey for the help with checking livewells and weighing everyone in.

Blazer and I started out catching first keeper on hand made 1/8 ounce buzz bait. The other three keepers were caught on spinner bait as well as the ten non keepers. Only had one miss on top water. Blazer was not much help today other than with the net. But Im sure he will redeem himself.. I think he landed three fish. I landed the other 10 fish and all of the keepers. emoPoke Had a great time with Blazer had to rag him a little. emoUpsmile emoRain Rough weather for fiahing a tx. Hope the next one is on a better day. Thanks Fishinvol for putting on tx.

Thanks Chris and Jim for putting on the tournament weighing those nice sacks! It was definitely a cool one with the wind. We had a keeper right off the bat on a frog and hooked up and lost 2 others, and whiffed on a few so thought it was going to be a good day - wrong. We missed several good fish and had many whiffs like others. Had some nice fish come out of the mat and miss the frog by a foot or two and never come back. The only real aggressive fish for us were the 14-3/4" variety it seemed. Ran way upriver to get out of the wind and couldn't catch anything of size up there either, so ran back down and our original mat was destroyed, wind blowing straight in to it and I think the water was coming up, but it was amazing to see it completely gone. Had a good day, caught quite a few fish but nothing that was worth bringing to the scales after seeing all those nice sacks being weighed. Congrats to the money winners!

Any more reports? I know this isn't everyone. It appears we all had a lot of wiffles at frog baits. One reason I went to the spook is the number of blow ups without hook ups on the frog and toad. Even the ones that came in were double hitting so if you jerked too fast you pulled the bait away before they actully took it. emoScratch Jmax
