Wanted to check out soddy creek and some other places, then work our way back to wolftever. So we put in at wolftever. From there we took off up the river. Got to soddy creek, tried some docks. Nothing. We rode around slowely looking for fish and found a whole bunch of fish in about 20 FOW across from one of the marinas next to a rock wall. We put out minnows and floats and also threw different colors of jigs. My float goes down and I'm reeling it in, told Brian "get the net this is a good one". 3 lb Bass. Belly full of eggs. Put it back in the water and fished there for about 30 more min and headed back to wolftever. Rode around a little, looking for fish, tried a few fallen trees and nothing. Decided to start trolling since the wind wouldn't let us anchor down. We were going by a couple of guys bass fishing and Brian catches a fish. Brian says "Fred, get the net, its a good one" 2 lb 12 oz bass. With a minnow. Started to ask those guys if they were catching any crappie. emoLaugh We proceeded on with the trolling and caught our share of non keepers and only 11 keepers ranging from 10 1/4 to 13 inches. Water temp was 54.8 when I looked at it. Fish were caught in around 13 to 20' range. The jig that done the best for us was a baby shad that I got from Soddy Custom Tackle. Doesn't have a name of the color on the package but it is transparent blue with a transparent white belly. Next was a Bobby Garland 2" Slab Slayer Electric Chicken, minnows, BG Bubblegum/Chart Silver and BG Black/Chartreuse Silver 2.5" Stroll'r.

It's a jig that soddy custom tackle makes. I've heard monkey milk mentioned before. They are good. And the ride up the river wasn't too bad with the wind at our backs but going down river was rough.
