Hrmmm... looking forward to this answer. Definitely be good to know.

I do know that when you hang a fish, and they come out with the placards with numbers on them, like 8.2, 9.4, 10.0... that mean's they're not paying attention to their jobs.

The only flag that I know of with a white stripe and a red body is to indicate a diver in the water. Maybe they had someone in the water at the time.

That flag means to stand up, bend over and place your head as far as possible between your legs and kiss your a$$ goodbye.

Just kidding, I have no idea what it means, never heard of it or seen it before.

All good answers so far! ButI dont think there are right. I bet Team-d will know, he works at all the dams on the TN river.

Not sure, I haven't heard of any underwater inspections at the Chick lately. What day did this happen? I'm curious as well and will see what I can find out. I'm just glad it was a stripe on the flag instead of a number as mentioned above... emoDoh

TeamD got a little more info. from them.It was from a worker on a bardge some where real close to the lower part of the dam.The flag was diagonal he had,

Yes, I'm certain they had a diver in the water. Law requires the display of a Diver's Flag (red w/diagonal white stripe) when a diver is in the water. Obviously might be hard to notice just stuck on a big work barge. Hence he was waving it so folks knew. The work beneath the Dam is really going to change our world down there. :(

Yup, must have had divers down in the construction area down by the barges. We use divers below the powerhouse and spillway for inspections and maintenance now and then - if they are below the powerhouse then the generators definitely won't be running.

In a negative way? I hope not!

That remains to be seen... it's already hurt me because work barges are often "parked" on a couple of my favorite spots. :(
