I think that there are some stake beds that were put out by the park guys there at Chester Frost park and those would be great spots to catch crappie. There is a lot of bass water there in the park too and I would expect that if you phoned the park that they could tell you specifically where to find those stake beds and you could try for the bass. I think that the stake beds are close to docks where your Mom and Dad would have easy access. Let us know if that works out for you.

Booker T Washington is a great place to catch both Crappie and Bass. They have a really good "T" dock as well as a couple other docks to catch both Crappie and Bass plus there is easy access to walk the bank and Bass fish. I have caught many limits of Crappie on the big T dock and a few good Bass.

Avoid skull Island...... It is for campers only this time of year. You can of course do like one the people running the camp suggested to me and my girlfriend.

Pay the $20 a day camping fee to fish there. Hahahahahahahaha

I used to be without boat and would go below the dam and fish from the piers along the river. There are a few spots there that will work. Also like the park above the dam below Erwin Marine. That will work also. You can try the boat ramp area as well - but please be respectful of the boats. Nothing I hate more than trying to dock my boat and a fisherman is on the boat ramp dock and refuses to move.

thanks for all the helpful advice I finally put the parents on some crappie at the t dock across from the camp grounds at chester.
