Float & fly and spots

I have some general questions about fishing the f&f for spots. I have used a f&f for smallies on Dale Hollow years ago but haven't used it in a while. Was thinking about going to Parksville looking for spots. Any information on colors of flies, leader lengths and or presentation. Any and all advise would be appreciated every much.
One last question will tomorrow be to sunny for a f&f? I may try it but not sure.

I don't know much about it but as muddy as parksville is right now it's probably not very good but I could be wrong

I would like to learn the float and fly as well. I have never fished one. What is a good fly to start with?
