Congratulations for Chattanooga and Lake Chickamauga! Even though with all the adverse lake water levels, horrendous winds, and cold front conditions, still in my opinion, it came off great! In speaking with several of the FLW Tour Directors, they were blown away with our city, the fans and the lake! The Director of Media, Jeff McCoy that
I worked with said "it was wonderful here." The Tx Pros loved the reception form the people and they loved the lake! Dion Hibdon told me today, that Sunday, Monday and Tuesday's practices were the best he had experienced in 5 years, and maybe forever!? He said, "I would catch a 3, 4, 5 lb. fish and move to another spot and catch a 6 lber.""It was unreal He wants to come back. Several said Chickamauga is much better than Guntersville, and the facilities, accommodations weren't even close! The Expo today was great! No. It wasn't a wonderful tackle or boating show, it wasn't supposed to be. But it was in fact as good or better than our annual local "boat show." They had a lot of family, children orientated displays too. Prater Pan Peanut Butter, Snickers, M&M's. bacon {?} Planters peanuts, cell phones. pet food, a fishing tank, my gosh you name it! The National Guard and Chevy booths were fabulous! A concert by country group Thompson Square that has a top ten hit on their hands, and it was all FREE! No admission! It was great! My only problem and complaint is that I never saw ANYONE, ANYONE, from our city or county as a representative!? Everyone I spoke with said that they had no idea that this was as big of an event as it was! They were in shock! How much money was dumped into the Chattanooga economy? Some of these people were here for 7 / 10 days!? Participants and sponsors. So that was approximately 160. If it had been a golf Tx, a tennis tx or a softball tx, the coverage would have been enormous! Now we did get some local newspaper ink of which I was way surprised, because they normally ignore the fishing Tx news, repots totally. So thank you Chattanooga NFP for that. If I understood all the information and comments from the FLW, they will be back. I just hope that our city and county officials wake up before then to embrace the efforts. I was also glad to see so many CFF members there today to support the event. I've had an absolute blast for the last four days chasing this thing, I'm tired now and I'll shut up! Thank you members of CFF!

I agree. Chickamauga could be one of the premier bass waters in the county if our city and county leaders would put more time/interest into attracting the FLW and BASS... Yes, we would have Indiana and Ohio license plates on rigs at the ramps every weekend but tons of $$$ would be pumped into our city from them.

Yeah Earl, I tried calling in to the talk radio and they don't even want to hear about bass fishing. If it's not bicycling, art or concerts you can't get any interest from their morning shows.
Good to see you today and my wife said you seemed a whole lot nicer in person than you do on the forum! emoLaugh
Tell that story you told us about the FLW guy coming in behind you on the blowdown you fished, it was priceless!

i agree it was a great event! and free!!!! great family atmosphere.
was highly let down by the lack of coverage, yeah there was a little in the paper, but geez the size and scope of this event, i heard a lot more about the 4 bridges art festival. it was going on today at the market, and perhaps drew in 1% of what this tourney did.
i dont say it often, but THANK YOU WAL-MART!!!!

nothing on channel 9 at 6:pm - very little on channel 3 - oh well, the important thing is there was a huge turnout today, much bigger than yesterday. My boys had a great time today, especially my 10 yr old. Thanks goes out to Guido and Dion Hibdon, Larry Nixon, Scott Suggs, David Dudley, Randall Tharp and Ron Sheffield for being true professionals. They all took time to talk with my kid instead of just signing a card and putting it on the counter. They represented the sport and their sponsors well in the show. The other guys need to watch them and learn a litte.

My boy thought the coolest part was being able to go on stage at the end and get all the top ten guys autographs and pictures. It was a really neat deal and he is really looking forward to fishing next Saturday in the FOM legacy series.

That is what I' ve been trying to say on Set the Hook! with Pat Rose. We have been pushing the FLW coming to town and Im sure Tony Sanders Outdoors has as well. We have another chance next year, I hope. Mayor needs today be there with the keys to the city.
Thanks,
PatRose
