First let me say it was good seeing everyone this morning, but whoever was supposed to bring the heater must have forgot (ha ha), by the time Chad and I put it the ramp was freezing over and slick. At blast off we headed to our first spot and nothing no bait nothing, we head over to spot 2 and Chad puts the first keeper in the boat on a trap in about 5 ft of water. We keep fishing that area for a while and nothing else we make 2 more moves and I am about to lift the bait out of the water and have one right at 4lbs scare the crap out of me, I didn’t have 3 ft of line out, I just hold the rod dow n so Chad can grab the net, we now have 2 for what we think is about 6lbs. We never get another bite, we hit 4 more areas and nothing. We finish with 6.77 with our 2, but we did get lucky and win the free entry fee for the next one.. congrats to those that had limits, it was a tough day for us. See you at the next one.

Thanks for reporting, congrats on the free entry. Funny, like you, we had a fish hit right at the boat a few weeks ago. Pete Jr. was about to lift his lure out of the water when a fish blasted it — a 6.5 lb. smallmouth ! It pulled drag , went under the boat and I was finally able to net it so we could take a picture and release it.
