We started the day with a plan, I had fish the weekend before and found a pattern that I thought would work. We headed the first spot and nothing we didn’t spend much time and made a run up to spot 2. A few cast in and I get the first keeper a 3 something a few cast later I get a small keeper , and about 10-15 min later Charlie gets number 3 another right at 3. We continue catching fish for a while but no more keepers, we decide to make a long Ron south to spot 3. Nothing nada nope. About the time we decide to go back to spot 2 it started pouring. And yep I forgot the helmets, long run in the rain with no helmet….. not fun … we get back to spot 2 and catch a few more fish but no keepers, we make one more move to some deep grass to try to ouch up a kicker. At 1:45 I told Charlie that I think we have between 8-9 lbs I would feel better if we could have culled the small keeper. I thought we would be close, Charlie (always positive) say hey we could wind up with a top 15 finish ( we only had 14 boats) We get to the scales and have 8 something good enough for the win. All keeper fish were caught on frogs. Other than the hour or 2 when it was pouring we caught fish all day. See everyone in a couple of weeks.
