First year with food plots, and one of our plots is growing like crazy... its a mix of winter wheat, oats, rye, white clover, rape, radishes and winter peas. Here is one of the shots of them... should we bushhog? Are the plants getting too tall, and in turn become unpalatable?

We don't have a bumper crop of acorns this year, so with the freezes this week, hopefully they'll move onto the plots and forage.

I wouldnt touch it. Once they get started on it, they will mow it down. It may be that they dont hit it hard till after season, and thats okay because it will provide valuble late-winter nutrition.

My plots were that tall and thick three weeks ago, but since the frost, they are mowing them hard.

Allow the frost and any snow to effect it.. Do nothing at all as advised above.. It may be that the deer are not targeting your food plot while the acorns are still abundant .. When the acorns get scarce you may find your Plot being hit hard.
