So you've got a friend who has always wondered what it's like to go bass fishing. Or a teenager who needs encouragement to put down the iPhone or video game controller.

Saturday, Free Fishing Day, is the day to do something about it. Whether you do it yourself or take advantage of one of the organized Free Fishing Day events... make it happen. If you have kids I STRONGLY recommend you make the drive up to Spring City for the Chuck Copeland Memorial Fishing Rodeo. This event is very personal for the TWRA folks. Rest assured they're going to pack the fishing area with lots of good channel cats and you will be astounded and amazed at the incredible array of prizes they have for the kids.

Yea, it is going to be crowded. It always is. But don't worry about it. Just dive in and I assure you your kids will have fun.
