A dog is truly a man's best friend.  Aside from humans, dogs are the most social animals on the planet.  Just think of all the stories you've heard about dogs interacting with humans, from saving lives to just being the most devoted companion a man can have.  Certainly, that makes it man's best friend.  But, don't take my word for it.  Here's an experiment you can personally conduct to lay any doubts to rest.

Put your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car for an hour.  When you open the trunk, who is really happy to see you??!!
