OK guys, gimme mo' of your wisdom...

Engine sounds fine and runs well once it's planed off, but when idling sputters, dies, and is very slow to gain power. I'm pretty sure it's just not getting a smooth fuel feed, and running it on enpty has clogged the fuel system.

I've checked the fuel filter on the engine...clean as a whistle. I'm pretty sure there's another filter on the "apparatus" going into the tank itself.

Any tips, tricks, or cautions when taking the lines off the tank and clearing the entire system of fuel lines between the tank and the engine? Other than the obvious: disconnect the battery and don't smokeemoLaugh

Thanks in advance...

Never mind...

A guy that used to work on outboards on the side told me that what I thought was a fuel filter was actually a flame guard and that the filter was in-line on the other side of the engine after the main fuel line connector...DOH!emoDoh

See how much I know?
