fuel pump

We went out saturday and the fuel pump went out. we put a elec, one on. took the old one off. took it out to day in the rain. it runs good or better. Do you guys thank it will be o.k. its a 200 johnson

I`d be a little worried about the pressure it`s putting on the floats in the Carbs. Over time it might cause some damage to seals and such.

All fuel pumps put pressure on the needle valve in a carb engine, nothing else in a carb gets any pressure.

it would be fine as long as the electric fuel pump is within the proper pressure range.and you dont leave it running with the motor off.i keep one in my boat as a backup.
