Hey guys also FYI from NRG on the Jig I was using today . it was a 1/2 oz jig with rattle as seen in photo from my post .. this thing acts like alot like spinnerbait .. its a zoom vibra blade about a #5 blade and ball bearing swivel /w split ring on each end of swivel, slide o-ring up onto hook use piece of surgical tube to keep blade from coming off the hook .. I got the jig and all the parts to make it at Soddy Custom Tackle .. but you can get any shop that has spinnerbait parts.. Ive had this idea in my head for a long time .. it will be a staple in my arsenal for awhile.
The Fish I caught where hitting on the initial fall of the jig to the bottom , or after slowly lifting then letting fall again down the drop of the ledge.
Its something the fish have never seen... they may think its a dying shad
You could use smaller jig to experiment with fall rates.. bass this time of year looking for a large meal, with as little energy expended to get it .. and this looks like a easy meal that will fill them up
Thank NRG. I tried working the chatterbait like a jig and didnt have any success. I do think it would work but I didnt have the confidence and in the midst of a skunk wanted to fish a little faster to cover water and try to find bait. Im going to jig it soon and give it 100%
