Had a lil malfunction today at guntersville. We ran up on some schooling fish and as I tried to get the rod out of the locker I broke the tip off of it. I know they are lifetime warranty but does that cover stupid mistakes or do I just need to take it to someone and have it fixed?

Thomas they are warranted for life against defects. Your mistake will cost you $50. Call G. Loomis, give them your address, model number of the rod, and your credit card number. You will have your new rod in 2 days. Put the broken rod in the tube, attach the provided return label, and send it back to them via UPS. When they get the rod back they will bill your card the $50. They pay shipping both ways.
If the break was not your fault the procedure is about the same. The difference being that when G. Loomis recieved the rod back they would inspect it and determine what caused the problem. Either way it never costs more than $50 no matter what the rod cost new.

If the tip just pulled off it is easy enough to fix yourself with tip kit. If your broke the blank, then you will have to send it off to the company.

Do what cheez said except do it online. I wouldn't even call them. Use what they call the online expiditor service. I broke mine in the same place a few weeks ago. I went onto the website filled everything out and picked my rod model and had a new one in about 3-4 days with a perpaid fedex label on the tube to send the broken one back. They have a great return policy.

Online 3-4 days, phone 2 days. If you are not in a hurry it doesn't matter. Either way it will cost you $50.

Thanks guys for all the help. I called them this mornin well they dont open till 11 our time but anyways they have excellent customer service. No questions asked 50 bucks and I will have a new one on tues. I would recommend them to anyone after this. Only ones easier to get exchanged are the carrot stix from phil.
