At the boat show today I saw some G3 boats with a rubbery floor that looked like carpet. I was wondering if it was sprayed on or what? I think I could do the decks on my boat like that and not have such a mess with these big catfish.
FS I believe it is vinyl carpet. Not sprayed but glued and layed like regular carpet. If it is a spray it is not factory G3 unless they have just come out with it.
I talked to the Tracker vendor alot and he said it was like a vinyl carpet. Really slick when wet. He indicated he'd had better results with the aftermarket spray in linings. I was wondering if the do it yourself kits would work as well?emoScratch
Since Tracker is one of the only boat builders that does not offer vinyl carpet I would expect they would bad mouth it. I know several folks that have it in their boats and none have ever had a bad word to say about it. I want to do either the vinyl or the spray in liner in my G3. Either one is about $1k in my rig. I will most likely go with the spray for the durability. Maybe when ole George sends me my gift I'll get it done.emoBigsmile
well I will have to tag along with ya cheez and check it out. Someone else I talked to that has it in their g3 has mentioned that there seem to be some problems with the vinyl staying down in the corners.
The special "vinyl" lining is really what sold me on my G3 DLX. I love it! Quiets movement almost as well as carpet, super easy to clean and maintain, and extremely durable. I don't know how it's attached, although I'm sure it's not sprayed on. However I've had no problem whatsoever with mine peeling up anywhere. It's great!
It is just like carpet. It glues and staples down. Bbass gave me a number for some guys in Dalton that sell the vinyl carpet. It is not cheap and it is not cheap to get installed. I want it bad but can't afford it right now.
